Email Not Arriving?

You don't see any error messages, and yet your e-mail is not getting to your contacts, or e-mail you are expecting to receive never arrives.

Inbound email not arriving as expected?

So, somebody sent you a message, and it hasn't arrived within a reasonable time? This is usually due to one or more of the following reasons - some of which are plainly out of your (and our) control. If you are satisfied you have done all you can below, then please raise a support call.

  • The incoming messages was sent from a mail server which is on a Real Time Black List.
  • The incoming message was sent from a badly configured mail server (not uncommon from small businesses), and exhibits some of the properties commonly found in spam messages.
  • Spamassassin is enabled on your account and set to auto-delete at too low a spam score.
  • Your mailbox is over quota. This can easily happen when you have set your POP3 mail software to leave a copy of messages on the server - it soon fills up. It can also happen if you are using IMAP or Webmail and haven't deleted or archived your old messages.
  • The person sending the email simply typed your address incorrectly.
  • If you are using our commercial email filtering service, then the message may also be delayed due to greylisting.

Outbound mail not arriving at its destination

Outbound email may not arrive at its destination for much the same reasons as inbound mail not arriving (although our mail server IS configured correctly!). As with all Internet mail, once a message leaves our server, we have no control over what happens to it. Please:

  • Ensure you typed the recipient's email address correctly
  • Ask the recipient to ensure they have no issue with their own mailbox
  • Ask the recipient to ensure they haven't filtered your message as spam

If you are still unable to send email to your recipient, then raise a support call.
